Facebook has been dethroned as the best place to work.


Job community site Glassdoor has released its annual list of the best places to work.

At number one this year is Bain & Company, a consulting services organization with more than 5,000 employees headquarted in Boston. Social networking sites LinkedIn and Twitter have ousted Facebook within the top 3.

The top five this year:

1. Bain & Company
2. Twitter
3. LinkedIn
4. Eastman Chemical
5. Facebook

Employees surveyed were asked to anonymously rate job satisfaction based on happiness with the company, the CEO, career opportunities, compensation and benefits, company culture, and work-life balance.

According to the American Psychological Association, the top reason people remain at their job is because they enjoy the work and it fits well with other areas of the employee's life. Other top reasons to stay at a job, according to APA, include benefits, pay, feeling connected to the organization, co-workers, the opportunity to make a difference, and management.

An employee at Bain & Company told Glassdoor that the company offers "interesting, impactful work."

At Twitter, ranked number two this year, employees make an immediate impact felt by millions of people around the globe, according to their website.
