“It is our obligation to help those that need a little support – especially those who served this great country,” said Qualigence International CEO Steve Lowisz.
“Although we may take it for granted, even a bicycle to get to work can make a significant impact in the lives of veterans who served their country with honor, yet struggle to live each day.”
The recipients include six men and two women whom were honorably discharged and have the ability to work. The bicycles will provide transportation to places of employment in the metro Detroit area.
The bicycles will be donated through the organization’s Qualigence Cares foundation. The foundation recently raised more than three thousand dollars in donations for and participated in the Autism Alliance of Michigan Walk for Autism Heroes Walk on June 28 at the Detroit Zoo.
The foundation also donated goods to a local veteran through the Fallen & Wounded Soldiers Fund, completed a walk and raised nearly $1000 for the National Kidney Foundation, and donated warm clothing to HOPE warming center last year.
