About the Role

Our client, a prominent and trusted manufacturer of musical instruments, seeks to identify an experienced and passionate Operations & Supply Chain Leader to assume primary responsibility of leading all operational, supply chain, and related functions for the organization.

The Operations & Supply Chain Leader is primarily a player/coach role. In addition to providing leadership to a small existing staff, this individual will oversee inventory and warehouse management, and will directly assume vendor relationships, order processing, manufacturing factory relationships in the US and Asia, and overall supplier relations. This individual will report directly to the CFO and serve as a member of the management team, acting as a key factor in implementation of the company’s 100-Year Brand Plan.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of core business, market opportunity, customer profile, market ownership, competitive landscape, and market trends to effectively evaluate prospects for increased market share, expansion into logical adjacencies for brand
  • Lead all purchasing and supplier relationships, inventory control activities
  • Direct, manage all domestic, international manufacturing operations in support of company
  • Manage timely execution and communication of purchase order information to suppliers
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of customer orders to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Provide strategic, operational leadership for team through a player/coach mentality
  • Apply creative approaches and ideas to solve problems for area of responsibility
  • Develop the right talent to meet current business commitments with an eye to future growth

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience within supply chain, inventory planning, and/or operations functions
  • Experience managing and negotiating with global vendors and manufacturing facilities with a heavy emphasis on Asian-based organizations
  • Extensive experience interacting with customers in order fulfillment and issue resolution
  • Proven ability to gain commitment and build strategic vendor and customer relationships
  • Experience within, or strong passion for the music and musical instruments industry
  • Ability to work with key stakeholders in multiple global locations and at various levels
  • Proven ability to drive cost reduction, reduce waste, improve inventory through data analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to succinctly summarize and report key findings and ability to negotiate with key stakeholders
  • 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree (Advanced Degree preferred)
