Dan Gilbert, chairman and founder of Rock Ventures and Quicken Loans Inc., has unquestionably played an integral part in the revitalization of Detroit, and isn't slowing down anytime soon.
In addition to the 80 buildings and real estate sites he currently owns in downtown Detroit, Gilbert recently purchased the Grinnel building and the Sanders building on Woodward.
Gilbert plans to construct a future high-rise on the site of the former J.L. Hudson department store, according to The Detroit Free Press. He is also a partner in a proposal to redevelop the former Brewster-Douglass public housing towers downtown.
Gilbert is also making headlines for a bid to acquire Yahoo.
