West Michigan will soon become known for more than its beautiful scenery.

A recent survey by Manpower found that 32% of employers in the West Michigan labor market plan to increase their staff in the third quarter, according to MLive.

Fifty nine percent plan to maintain their staffing levels and only 4 percent plan to cut workers.

The employment outlook leads to an optimistic labor market. The survey points to more optimism in Michigan's hiring market than last year, according to Manpower. Twenty-nine percent of Michigan companies interviewed plan to increase hiring in the third quarter.

The survey puts Michigan's employment future as third best in the nation.

Nationwide, the survey found that 22% of employers plan to add to their workforce in the third quarter. Labor markets with the weakest outlook include Cape Coral, Fla., Miami, Fla., and Akron, Ohio.
