LinkedIn has released a new mobile app for iPhone and Android that includes easier navigation, Boolean search, and soon, mobile ads.

This is the first update to the LinkedIn app since 2011 and includes a test-run of sponsored ads and content.

Some new components of the LinkedIn Mobile App:

  • Style Navigation: Now easier to view existing comments and add your own
  • Customization: Trending content appears at the top of your news feed, customizable shortcuts
  • Search: Bug that caused search to freeze fixed. Boolean search works, allowing users to include “and” “or” and “not” to further hone in on a candidate search
  • Art: The new app relies more heavily on accompanying photos on profiles and articles, making for a more current overall look
  • Ads: LinkedIn users may soon see sponsored ads or content atop their newsfeed

According to LinkedIn, as much as 27% of its daily traffic comes from mobile devices. This is up from 8% two years ago.

What, if anything, do you think these changes will do for Mobile Recruiting?
