Professionals with skills in tech, consulting, and legal appear to be in the best position when it comes to compensation in the U.S. This is largely due to the boom in demand for professionals in these fields, particularly software engineers, database administrators, and data scientists, according to a recent report by Glassdoor.
For some tech roles, for every 3 roles to fill, there is only one professional with the skill set to fill it. Glassdoor is referring to these professionals as "Superstar Employees" who are able to apply their skill set to products, technologies, and services that are affecting consumers across the globe. Fields such as legal are also seeing increased longevity within roles, allowing professionals to climb the ladder and be placed in top-paying spots.
