I do the in-house recruiting, which gives me a chance to talk to a lot of people, which I love. I enjoy being an ambassador for the Q, making sure all of our candidates, whether they end up joining our team or not, come out of the experience with a good feeling.
The people I work with are amazing – they are dedicated, hard working people, and at the same time, they’re having fun. It’s contagious!
I think we’ve made some great additions to the team since I joined Qualigence, and it feels really good that I’ve had a part in bringing them on board.
I do this every day!
1. I like to tell candidates about the atmosphere here – everyone works hard, but we have fun, too.
2. I enjoy explaining to candidates the uniqueness of our model. It tends to pique their interest – I have worked for traditional staffing and consulting firms in the past, and this is so different and in the best way!
3. Last, but definitely not least, I share with candidates that our leadership team truly values the people who work for them. Yes, there’s a business to run, but that business relies on the people within it, and Steve and his leadership team really get that.
What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?
Typically, I have no typical days! I go from sourcing candidates to working on updating the employee handbook, to coordinating interviews, etc. I just have to make sure I keep an eye on my calendar and my task lists!
What Thought Leaders/Authors have influenced you professionally?
This might sound odd, but Kirk Gibson, my childhood baseball hero. He was never the player with the most pure baseball talent, but he gave 110% every day. I’ve tried to emulate that throughout my life – whether on the field, in the classroom, at home or at work.
